Tyre Pressures in Forza Horizon 6

Tyre Pressures

Tyre pressure is the cheapest performance change in the game and the one most people get backwards, because FH6 heats its tyres as you drive.

Tyre pressures in Forza Horizon 6 change as the tyres warm up, so you set them cold and let them climb. Aim for a warm pressure of 32 to 34 PSI, which usually means starting around 28 to 29 PSI cold on road compounds. Off-road and rally tyres are a road racing meta pick at A class and below because they cost far less PI for near race-compound grip.

Cold, not warm

FH6 models tyre temperature. Pressures rise a few PSI over the first lap or two as the rubber heats. So you set a cold value and let it climb into the optimal window rather than setting the target directly.

Compound matters

Different compounds want different pressures and suit different jobs.

The off-road tyre meta

At A class and below, off-road and rally tyres brake and turn nearly as well as race compounds for a fraction of the PI. That frees the saved PI for power, which is why leaderboard builds run them. Above A class, race compounds pull clear because outright grip matters more than the PI saving. Like every over-performing part, expect it to be patched eventually.

Weather

For wet conditions, drop pressures 3 to 4 PSI from your dry setup and extend your braking zones. In winter, drop 2 to 3 PSI and soften the bump damping slightly.

Frequently asked questions

What tyre pressure should I use in Forza Horizon 6?

Aim for a warm pressure of 32 to 34 PSI. Because FH6 heats its tyres, set them cold at around 28 to 29 PSI on road compounds and let them climb.

Do I set tyre pressures hot or cold?

Cold. FH6 raises pressures as the tyres warm, so set a cold value in the high 20s and let it rise into the 32 to 34 PSI window over a lap or two.

Are off-road tyres good for road racing in FH6?

At A class and below, yes. They brake and turn almost as well as race compounds for a fraction of the PI, so the saved budget goes into power. Above A class, race compounds pull clear.

What tyre pressures are best for drag racing?

Very low rear pressure, 18 to 20 PSI, to grow the contact patch for launch, with high front pressure around 30 to 32 PSI to cut rolling resistance.
