What downforce does
Aero pushes the car into the road, adding grip through fast corners. The faster you go, the more it does. The catch is drag: more wing means a lower top speed, so it is always a trade.
The aero balance target
Balance matters more than raw numbers. FH6 shows an aero balance readout. Aim for 0.40 to 0.45, which is roughly 40 percent front and 60 percent rear downforce. That keeps the car stable and planted at the rear rather than nervous.
How much to run
It depends on the track, not a single answer.
- Technical circuits: maximum downforce at both ends is usually fastest.
- High-speed tracks and long straights: drop rear downforce towards minimum and lengthen the final drive.
- One tune does not fit all tracks: adjust aero to the layout.

On a drag build, front aero is pure drag and does nothing in a straight line, so remove it. Add a rear wing only if you cannot control wheelspin through gearing and the differential. On drift builds, run less rear downforce than front so the rear stays loose at speed.
